The 12 Books of Winter: A Library Event to Showcase our New Acquisitions!
Come along on a winter book hunt to mark Winterlude and celebrate the library's new acquisitions. This event will be held from January 31st until February 17th, the official dates of Winterlude. On each of these days, we invite you to come to the library to search for a winter object that will be placed somewhere within the library. This object will contain a QR code. Scanning the code will direct you to the library's online catalogue and to the catalogue record for one of the new books. Participants are invited to email the title of the book to the library by the end of each day to be entered into a draw to have first access to the new book. Winners of the draw will be announced on February 18th.
The books included in this event are all recent publications that address wide-ranging topics from housing policy to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to leadership, and have been met with widespread acclaim. Several of the books have been winners of awards such as the Financial Times Best Business Book or the Year and the Balsillie Prize for Public Policy, and have appeared on the New York Times Bestseller List. These acquisitions make significant contributions to the library collection and will contribute to the ongoing modernization of the collection.
This guide includes the book selections for the event. At the end of each day, a new page within the guide will become visible. Click on the winter icon to view the day's book title and email the title to the library to be entered into the draw. This interactive guide serves as a counterpart to the in-person event.
This winter, come along on a winter journey to explore the library and its resources!
